The Second International Symposium on Ubiquitous Networking

Casablanca, May 30 - June 1st, 2016

Special session

Smart Cities and Urban Informatics for Sustainable Development

As a result of urban growth and migration waves, cities around the world are experiencing tremendous pressure as their infrastructures have to cope with increasing demand for supply on water, energy, transportation, healthcare, education, and safety. Digital Technologies play a critical role in reducing costs, improving the quality of services delivered to citizens, balancing budgets, and enhancing the efficiency of various city systems. Extensive research is being carried out on smart cities’ enabling digital technologies including cloud and network infrastructures, Internet of things (IoT) and sensing technologies, data integration and big data analytics, social networking, and mobile crowdsourcing. Integrative solutions and advanced computing techniques can facilitate creating novel applications and value-added services to improve urban life and build a sustainable society.
